The lymphatic system
The Lymphatic System is made up of vessels and nodes (glands) and is the body’s first line of defense against disease and infection.
The Lymphatic Vessels move lymph around the body and through the nodes, which act as a filter, removing toxins, Dead cells, Bacteria and excess fluid. It also carries infection fighting white blood cells throughout the body.
Having an effective and healthy Lymphatic system is important for optimal health, well-being and immunity.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage Massage
The Lymphatic system does not have a “pump” of its own to move the lymph around like the heart does for the circulatory system. Instead it relies on regular movement of the body and muscles to pump it around.
A lymphatic massage uses gentle and directional strokes that promote lymph to flow in a more productive and effective way.
Reasons for a sluggish Lymphatic system.
Lack of exercise
